A Lesson Learned
Don't buy guitars on a whim.
I purchased two guitars from AMS on Wednesday and one arrived yesterday. I'm sending it back tomorrow. The other guitar is coming from AMS's Nevada warehouse, so I should get it next week.
Oh well, at least now I still have the $450.

Which guitar and why?
I returned the Jazz guitar: a Jay Turser JT 155.
1. The hardware was not the same as pictured, and generally cheesy all round.
2. The pick guard (again cheesy) had a chip in it.
3. It didn't sound as good as I would have liked.
I read a few reviews, and one in particular said that he found the hardware to be a little shaky, but the sound quality made up for it, He also considered the price versus a Gretsch or Gibson. This guy bought it used for around $250. I figured that if I got it new, the hardware might be better, and if it sounds good and feels right, then it would be worth it. I was wrong. I think I'll probably shy away from "no-name" brands unless I actually play them and like them.
